Niagara Specialty Foods
In 1975, Mario Pingue Sr. established a restaurant and banquet facility in Niagara Falls
That quickly developed a reputation for quality cuisines and attentive services. As the business grew, Mr. Pingue kept his personal touch by often sending his homemade prosciutto to the guests. Mr. Pingue recruited his two sons Mario Jr. and Fernando, passing onto them the butchery and salting techniques he learned from his youth. In Late 2002, the Oliver-Bonacini group reached out to Niagara food specialties to feature their product at Auberge du Pommier in Toronto.
The product was so well received that the company immediately began considering the market potential for prosciutto outside the Niagara region. Today, Mario and Fernando Pingue oversee the Niagara Food specialties production facilities and manage their full-service event catering businesses.
